Hi Tasters!

Here is a mini blog post update! The trip has been super busy which has been incredibly fun and so I haven’t posted as much as I expected along the way but I am excited to share what I can!

So I completed 9 interviews in Nova Scotia – likely the most I will do because I am well connected there – but also because I wanted a solid base of many different voices.

Yesterday I landed in Saint John, NB at a dear friend from University Kara Parsons. She was a gracious host and also spoiled me with a beautiful lunch today.

Then I realized my email notifications hadn’t come through and I actually did have an opportunity to do an interview with Chad Duplessie at Eel Ground First Nation… about a 3 hour drive away.

Needless to say I left immediately and got there for 5pm. Chad is a project coordinator for multiple initiatives including a drop in meal for all of the community. He is also a city councillor for Miramichi and volunteers with the NB Food Security Action Network.

Next I drove to Pointe de Chêne near Shediac, NB for an interview with Paul Moores who has done a little bit of everything related to food – a lobster roll Food Truck, Food Safety courses, worked in food processing. And what a view he has from the board room 🙂

Finally I can head back to Saint John. It is a good think I had a good long sleep last night!

Much love and Happy Tasting!

Irena

PS I am plotting out Quebec next and although I have been recommended quite a few suggestions I am looking for a few suggestions for people and places to connect in Quebec city.

  1. Great to have you back online. What a fantastic photo. Made me miss my home in NB and the smell of the ocean. My family is in Petitcodiac and would be happy to meet you. My sister runs an eco-friendly Pilates studio that they built themselves. She also has a studio in Moncton. She is a specialist in Body Mind Centering. They are very aware of good food, good health and protecting the environment. Happy trails.
