Mike is a brewer. He grew up in PEI and his work as a brewer came from building on the need that happened on its own. In fact, his studies as an engineer helped to facilitate the technical side of brewing which he enjoyed. Take a listen to some of his travel experience story impacting his interest in creating a business plan and then actioning. Overall there is a pretty candid approach about his success. Please note things do change so the brewery has closed relatively recently.

He was very kind to make space for me to interview him and I was very grateful to hear all about it – I hope you enjoy hearing about it and consider a cheers!

Take a listen to Part 1 released last week and Part 2 (this may be the only one I split)! on the podcast:

I appreciated how incredibly candid he was about both his excitement about being technical, and then also enjoying quality of food both in food in restaurants (and craft beer). There was an ongoing conversation about the standard of food. Listen in for discussion about ingredients, resourcing, transportation, experience, cost and financing.

One of the most beautiful aspects of the interviews was because the trip and interviews really took on a life of there own – and interviewees who trusted me to complete them accurately my request is that as a listener you really take the time to be kind, considerate and respectful of the vulnerability each person shares as a way to question or strengthen your own thoughts. My ask is that often I’ve found when we have a reaction to a conversation it can actually be a good sign that there is something deeper – perhaps even a few levels beyond the initial thought.

It was a very intelligent honest conversation so my hope is that as you listen in, there is an invitation to be kind and curious to reflect on how our own relationships with food, ingredients and the various work-businesses.

Thank you! Happy Tasting!
